No Business for MetroFi

Today the Cupertino Courier published a story on the "Transmitters are popping up on some utility poles" (http://www.svcn.com/archives/cupertinocourier/20050518/cu-coverstrip.shtml). In the same issue, MetroFi, the company that installed the transmitters, placed a 1/4 page ad. How about that? This is good business for the Courier. Also today, I got a promotional card from MetroFi. So the company is going high gear trying to get business from the residents of Cupertino.

Please do not do business with MetroFi. Please let your neighbors know.

According to the contract, when the company is out of business, it has to remove all the transmitters. So we want to make sure that it has no business with us.

Yeah! Boycott MetroFi.

This is a doomed business model. Why subscribe to a low speed Internet? DSL and Cable are faster.

The Courier had a conflict of intereste. Anyway it did not care because it had to make money. So write about MetroFi and ask the company to buy advertisement. $$$

Like Hann said, you have other and better alternatives for Internet access. For example:

Comcast

I know someone who recently signed up for $19.95 per month for the first 6 months. He reported download speeds of 4.5 Mps.

DSL

I know someone who recently signed up with Yahoo/SBC DSL for $19.95 per month for the first 12 months. He reported download speeds of 1.5 Mps.

Dialup Accelerators

For those of you who access the Internet only occasionally, there are plenty of dialup providers for as low as $4.97 per month. For those who want faster dialup speeds, you can get dialup accelerators that will boost your dialup speed by as much as 5x, but you pay only $9.95 per month.

Refer to this URL:

Even though Comcast and DSL may be more "expensive", in terms of price performance, they are far superior to MetroFi.

As you can see from the above, there is no reason to subscribe to MetroFi.

Help keep our neighborhood free from intruders such as MetroFi.
